Dot Art

Hi bloggers today in Te Waka Ako we did a dot art. We got a picture with dots that make a Christmas tree and on colored paper  and one pin. We got the colored paper and put the paper on the floor and got the Christmas picture and put it on the colored paper. Then we got the pin and poked the dots. We have to be careful to not move the paper. If you move it then you will mess up and you have to start all over again. When I started my hand was not hurting  but when I was halfway there it was hurting I was tired and I didn't want to do it again. I was finally done and it looked cool when you put it on the window and when the sun is looking at it you can see the Christmas tree. Clearly here is my own I made.

Skateboarding

Skateboarding

Kia ora, bloggers, today we went to skateboarding. We had two coaches, Ben and Lawrence. We have two sessions today,  our first session I felt really confident because I knew how to skate. First we had to stand in front of a skateboard then we picked up the skateboard and we were putting it the right way. Then we had to stand and lean forward and the first foot that goes forward is the one that you put on the board and the other foot is when you have to push with it. We did some warm ups we had to stand on the skateboard with one leg and the other leg off the floor for three seconds we had to do the same thing with our eyes closed and touching our noise that was challenging. Then we had to go on the white line and we had to all race to the end of the court when Lawrence says freeze then we had to stop some people got to the end and some didn't.  The people that were at the end had to go with Lawrence and the people that didn't get to the the end had to go with Ben I was with Lawrence.

The first thing we did is tic taxs, if you dont know what it  I will tell you. You have to put one foot on the edge of the skateboard and the skateboard goes up and the other foot goes on the other edge and the skateboard goes down and you move the skateboard in circle backwards and frontwards. Then we tried it but with while moving. It was really difficult but I gave it a try  anyway and I could do it ! I was really proud of myself. Then we played Whats the time Mr wolf we played while skating Mr wolf says whats up wolf gang and we say whats up  Mr wolf then when he looks at us we have to stand still and don't move it was really fun. Then all of us got to have a free play that was really fun I at the end I had a fixed mindset instead of a growth mindset. I hope the other sessions is going to be better blog you latter.

Production

Hi bloggers, on the first of November the seniors went to Waikowhai intermediate to practice our school production. Our production was called Jasmine and Aladdin there were nine scene in the production. In our production I was Aladdin. My first time on the stage is scene two the market place. We went to Waikowhai intermediate to practice our production to get ready for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (the three days the production was on) they are the days that we perform for the adults and children . When I was on stage I got a little nervous but when I was on stage a lot I got use to it and loved being on stage. The year five and six dance was cool and amazing it was one of my most favorite parts of the play.

On Tuesday the middles and the juniors came to Waikowhai intermediate to practice there dance, all of the dances were amazing I thought. The middles and juniors loved watching our show and they were so patient  when it was there turn to go on stage. On Wednesday morning we had a dress rehearsal, a dress rehearsal is when you wear the costumes and preform with them on stage like the real show is happening. On Wednesday night I was scared but when I was on stage I got used to it again I hope on Thursday and Friday I don't get scared again .

Wonder Project

This week Manukau and  Hauraki were doing their second test flights. The people in my group is Kenny, Santana, Demetrius and Rael.  There was three vests. The blue vest is for the chief engineer, the yellow one is chief scientist  and the pink is the safety officer. I was the safety officer. Demetrius was our chief engineer and Kenny was the chief scientist. We had a 1.5 litre bottle and two big fins and we wrote space shooters to represent our team and a big cone on top of our bottle . When we all got our rocket one of the fins was gone when it was our turn to launch our rocket our other fin fell off. We had 380 ml of water.  Demetrius and I pumped air into the bottle. We stopped when the air pressure got to 60psi. Kenny launched the rocket by pressing on the trigger. Our rocket went 25 meters!. what I have learnt about wonder project is if you only have a bottle it wont go anywhere it will just go in circle.

Te Waka Ako can cook recipe

In lock-down we got sent some work .  You had to write your favorite recipe of your favorite food and the method. I chose fried rice. When I was writing about it I felt hungry, but I kept going. For your recipe you could copy from the internet ,but you can't copy and paste it. You had to write in your own words, we had to use a google drawing and finish it. Then you have share the google doc to your teacher and then she/he added it to the Te Waka Ako Can Cook slideshow for everyone to use.
