Athletics Day

On Tuesday 19th November  our whole school was doing athletics. We had to wear our house colour shirt or other things. I was in Tui so I wore yellow. We wore our house colors because we were  supporting our house. I was in the 8 year old boys group. I liked doing high jump because I am good at it and trained for it. I came 1st at high jump. I would do better next year in shot put because I did kind of good and kind of bad but I tried my best.

Pasifika Mamas

We went to the Corban Estate Art Centre to see the Pasifika Mamas. We had to take our shoes off before we went inside. Then we sat in lines and listen to Aunty Tu she taught us how to say hello in Samoan, Fijian, Hawaiian, Cook Island and Tongan. The first section I went to was making leis. We were using fabric flowers, straws and string. Then we rotated then I went to drumming. They had two sorts of drums, log drums and skin drums. We all had a turn on the drums. Two people had to go on each drum and hold one stick. An adult was helping us do it then letting go. Finally we had to do a dance, girls vs boys. Each team was doing a dance.

Science experiments

My class and l did a science experiment about how much water drops can we could fit on a 10 cent coin. We had to fill a container with water then we got pipettes to get drops of water on the coin. We  had to press the fat part gently to make drops of water and we had to keep count of how many drops we got until it overflowed. We were testing the surface tension of water.
